For those of you who know me, I know what you’re thinking: it’s about time!
Yes, I’m happy to say that my long overdue website has finally launched. SEO sure has kept me busy the past few years, and getting my own site off the ground has taken a back seat to my clients’ sites at nearly every turn. But finally, here we are.
So what is this blog about anyway?
This blog is all about helping businesses to achieve better results from their SEO and online marketing efforts. I’ll be writing about anything that I believe will help you to generate more and better-targeted traffic from the search engines, better leads, and more sales. Topics I’ll cover will include:
- practical strategies for achieving better SEO
- software tools that can save your web team time and make them more productive
- the many different aspects of online marketing that SEO touches on: usability, content, design, etc.
- common misconceptions about SEO
- insights into the often murky world of search that can save you time, money, and frustration
- and much more
Is there a particular aspect of SEO or online marketing that you would like to learn more about? Please let me know. If I think it would be of interest to others as well then there’s a good chance I’ll write about it.
There’s a mountain of outdated and simply incorrect information out there about SEO that’s been regurgitated a thousand times over (to put it mildly) by bloggers who don’t give a moment’s thought to what they’re preaching.
Unfortunately, much of this information is taken as gospel by people who are simply looking for some honest and reliable insight to act on, and much of it can do your site’s SEO more harm than good.
That’s just the unfortunate reality of the SEO world that we live in, as there is no credible certification for SEO practitioners, and no industry regulation or oversight of any kind.
My commitment to my readers is that every blog post I write will be 100% original, authentic content. When I’m writing about recommended SEO strategies, you can be certain that it will be based on current, proven practices that are entirely within Google’s guidelines. No nonsense!
That’s not to say that some of what I share won’t be debatable or controversial; it almost certainly will be at times. After all, not everything in the world of SEO and online marketing is black & white.
There are facts, and there are opinions. So feel free to challenge my stated facts (if you dare!), disagree with my opinions, and voice your thoughts in the comments. Oh, and if you find what I’m writing about helpful, feel free to let me know that too. 🙂
Ultimately, my goal with each blog post I write is to leave you with something of real value that you find not only genuinely thought-provoking, but that you can also take away and act on in a way that makes sense for your business.
I’ve been practicing and teaching SEO for several years now and am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some incredible clients in a wide variety of industries. And I’m still constantly learning (practically daily) as SEO is a continually evolving discipline.
I look forward to sharing with you what I’ve learned from my experiences, and to learn from you as well through our interactions. I sincerely hope that you gain some strategies and insights that you can use to make your business a little (or a lot) more profitable.
